Clinical Block Schedule

Our residency programs at ECU work on a schedule of 13 blocks each year of training. The Med-Peds residency program is made up of 26 pediatric rotations and 26 internal medicine rotations. You will rotate between the two specialties at the end of blocks 4 and 9. Below is an example of a block schedule. Electives are tailored to the residents’ career interests and areas of strengths & weakness. You will also note that we have “flex months”. These have been incorporated to allow a resident to tailor their clinical rotations to help them prepare to meet their career goals.
