Nouman Ali, DO

Hometown: Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan

Medical School: Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Favorite Activities: Reading, running, outdoor sports (basketball, tennis, disc golf…), documentaries, and spending time with family and friends.

What drew me to the program: Eastern NC is the birthplace of MedPeds! I was attracted to ECU-VMC’s strong commitment to serve the surrounding population. VMC is a large referral center providing ample opportunities to see bread and butter pediatrics and adult medicine along with the zebras. Looking forward to spending the next couple of years providing the highest quality medical care to all my patients alongside dedicated and down-to-earth residents and faculty that share the same values.

Name Pronunciation: NAN-ee

Hometown: Shelby, NC

Medical School: Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Carolinas Campus

Favorite Activities: Being a former collegiate women’s soccer athlete, she still enjoys playing in adult league or pick up soccer games! Additionally, she has developed a love for being active by running, working out, or simply being outside any chance that she can. She tries to eat and cook healthy by attempting new recipes and container gardening. She takes pleasure in hanging out her friends and playing with her boyfriend’s Old English Sheepdog, named Hazel!

What drew me to this program: I am from NC and wanted to train in the state that I grew up in, fell in love with, and give back to the health care community all while getting a balanced training to treat both children and adults.

Hannah Spiker, DO

Hometown:
Moody, Alabama

Medical School: Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Auburn Campus

Favorite Activities: She spends most of her free time on her spin bike. Though, the activities she most enjoys include traveling with her husband, hiking, archery, and playing fetch with her Yorkie.

What Drew Me to This Program: I was attracted to the small town feel of Greenville with the large academic teaching institution at ECU and Vidant. It was the perfect match for a person with interests in rural medicine, like me, without having to sacrifice training or education. I ranked ECU as my first choice because of all the camaraderie and support I witnessed among the Med-Peds program as well as the categorical residents and faculty.
